PURPOSE OF JOB
We are delighted to be recruiting for 2 children's counsellors to work across Thanet outreach with children in KS2 and KS3 supporting vulnerable children who have been affected by sexual violence.
Your reporting centre will be based in Canterbury however your work will be based in the Thanet area.

General Duties
- Attend and participate in regular training, staff meetings, supervision and other service meetings as necessary within the EKRCC team.
- Be committed to personal and professional development and undertake relevant training and CPD opportunities.
- Maintain up to date knowledge on issues relevant to survivors of sexual violence.
- To provide effective and safe case management.
- To manage a trauma informed streamlines pathway between survivors and our services.
- To provide administrative support to service teams.
Requirements
- CYP qualified counsellor.
- Evidence of solid experience working with CYP who have experienced trauma.
- Knowledge and experience of working with issues of rape and sexual abuse.
- A commitment to identifying and challenging inequalities.
- Membership of either BACP and/or UKCP.
- Experience of carrying out assessments, risk assessments and support planning with clients.
- Knowledge and experience of working in blended approach formats.
- Knowledge and experience of working with safeguarding and child protection issues, policies and procedures.
- Experience of working with very vulnerable and traumatised individuals and their unique needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of child development, transitions and mental health in the context of the impacts of rape and sexual abuse.
- Experience of working with schools and multi-agency working processes.
- Ability to establish and maintain ethical and professional successful working relationships with children, parents/carers and a wide range of professional.
- Own car essential.
